YES, Italy is going home. Destiny made them pay for Berlusconi and Austria. Just like the frenchies paid for LePen. But Belgium was innocent...WTF? ;D ;D ;D ;D
PS: Brazil can be beaten: it should be clear to all who saw Bel-Braz. So England should keep the faith. Spice Boy is going to have a brand new mohawk for the occasion....

I am in awe after watching that game. I still can't believe what I saw. But I think justice was made as Korea deserved to win. Next round will be just as exciting was this one was...ma'money is still on Brazil and Spain (although my real money is on England: I put money on the winner of Eng-Arg winning the whole thing...I was expecting Arg to win).

lol@srrh about spice boy. Yes i wondered what the hell was up with that, but at least it's less shocking than the time he decided to wear a skirt!!! anyways back to football. Germany plays the USA on friday (or at least that's what TV tells me) and i certainly hope that the USA doesn't win! Although, it would be funny if they did seeing that they barely show it over here and they won't even call it football!as was already pointed out in this thread!lol! as for England I really hope they go all the way, I love the world cup atmosphere is england, i remember being sent home by our head of year 4 years ago to watch the england vs tunisia game! LOL! and as the song goes...VINDALOO VINDALOO...no wait a mo, that's the wrong song! "30 years of hurt!" that's better! it's been a while for them and all those football hooligans need a break!

It just goes to show that soccer is a truly universal sport- we have teams from Europe, Africa, The Americas, Asia all competing at the highest level.
All we need now is a team from Oceania/Australasia and maybe an Arctic/Antarctic squad ;D

i must admit it is catching on down here too... ;D Much like the US we have so many other sports adopting a much higher profile, but also our junior leagues are in dissarray and and class player we manage to spawn is shipped off to the fattest back pocket. Yet with such a healthy multicultural nation and a perchant hunger for all things sporting regardless of aptitude - australia has taken to the world cup much like the rest of the planet who doesnt normally embrace "football" with such fervour... i now understand why the close loss to uruguay for our boys to miss qualifying was such a stinkfist, and to think of the passion here if we had a team representing the green and gold...? :Bounce: can australiasia please have a freebie entry? we wont rattle the championship boat much....say like a ...er..senegal? cheers

oh..and our italian precinct copped a lashing last night.. a few busted windows, some angry gatherings and a pretty hefty police presence...and not a machine gun to be seen. considering what we have seen on the news and across the globe...not too bad... world: take note

Oz- from what I hear- the plans are that Oceania will be guaranteed 1 spot in the 2006 games.
Since New Zealand is really your only competition (and they, sorry JWK, arn't much cop at football) so you'll most likely have your Gold and Green in Germany 2006!

Well, I'm sure if you Aussies were still innit we'd never hear the end of it. Whoever wins the Brazil England match should win the cup. Go England, I pick Owen to score first.

you damn straight you wouldnt hear the end of it.. I must apologise for our spirited national pride, sometimes confused for the near sighted and sickening parochialism displayed by certain other countries... Soccer hadly enjoys even a fourth or fifth tier of popularioty, hell, even netball and rugby are more widely populated. considering we enjoy a third of Britain's population and fairly safe to say dont give a toss for soccer I think the hype surrounding this world cup will stand us in good stead for the next one. if only our major sporting stars had bene channelled towards soccer, namely aussie rules, cricketers, athletes and basketballers then much like many other sports we would enjoy towelling the world at yet another sport...relative to our micro-population. plus all our decent names have long dissappeared, mind you they dont seem to contribute much when the wear the national pride. see you guys in four years...

Wycco- The world may not be seeing much of soccer in New Zealand, but it is growing immensly in popularity.
Granted our national squad(read football kingz in the aussie league :Freak: ) are pretty crappy at the moment, but we have gargantuine talent emerging in the younguns.(i mean real younguns, 5 year olds etc)
I have been playing soccer since i was 7 and have won a host of trophies etc for my efforts, and i consider myself a fairly decent player, but i was recently playing a friendly against a team of under 15s... Boy they have skill! we allmost lost to the little beggars!
What im trying to say here is that although the NZ soccer the world sees is piss poor, we are bound to have a decent squad coming up in the next decade or two. Its just such a pity that most New Zealanders favour the intellectual intricacies of rugby(sarcasm:ON)
Go Oceania!!! LOL

LOL... Well JWK- I hope you are right... Sorry Aussie's... no offense intended... BUT... I will laugh my arse off if New Zealand gets the qualifying spot for Oceania in 2006! Once I got good at FIFA RTWC '98 (Road To World Cup '98) I used to play as New Zealand (once it got too easy to win the cup as England)- and yes... although on the hardest setting it is hard to win the World Cup as New Zealand- I am proud to say I did manage to do it- several times!!! Never managed to win as the Maldives Islands though!
