Not personally, but I'm aware of their capabilities. They're up there with the SAS and the Seals. I've heard that they are usually mean bastards as well, and you don't have to be French to join.

of course the legionaires are tough, they have Jean Claude Van Damm on their side Donald Rumsfeld has recently given a speech condemning Iran and Syria as helping Saddam's reigeme. "Syria will be held accountable for these acts of agression" The crime?: Letting night vision goggles be transported through their territory on the way to Iraq. Terrorists! Murderers! criminals! Fundamentalists! Night vision goggle traffickers!

JWK- i know it sounds petty, but Syria knows they are not allowed to do that. Plus we are getting reports that the Suicide bombers are getting into Iraq via Syria.
- what do you guys think about these 7 women and kids shot by the troops. I think it is a situation where both sides made a mistake and something awful happened. The driver should have stopped, and the soldiers made the wrong choice to open fire. However, i could be wrong and this could be a situation of a group trying to storm the checkpoint.
- Saddam is he dead or alive? No live feed, no taped story with him at least showing a newspaper confirming he is alive. He sounds dead or is on life support. That statement by the info minister basically confirms the man is not able to lead. What do you think?

LOL... I don't think Saddam is going to come out holding a newspaper- why would he? Because Rush Limbaugh and O'Reilly told him he had to- otherwise he must be dead? I don't know if Saddam is alive or dead- his lack of presence may only mean that he fears to move- lest the US detect him... he can't make a peep- or the Allies' bunker busting bombs will smash him no matter where he is... With all the electronic surveillance and intelligence, Saddam, IF he is alive, is doing the smart thing by remaining hidden- I'd do the same thing... The hawks who are calling for Saddam to show himself with a newspaper know this... they're just trying to make the war to appear a success- its called "spin". The truth is- Saddam may or may not be alive... And he doesn't want us to know... he WILL maintain a low profile- and he has no reason to come out holding a newspaper- WHY WOULD HE?

i would like to make a point:
just because he is not on tv doesnt mean he is dead. it is only the modern age that has pushed the media into warfare. i am sure that having his face on tv is not important in war.. although the media tend to think it is.(funny that eh?)

I'm sure he's alive but his paranoia (almost as bad as Danny Boy's) is keeping him from showing his face.
;D

True, but this guy is the type that has to be in his peoples face to keep that military going. By not replying it shows weakness. Saddams family is tryingto escape too. Going on Live TV would be really dumb. however, if you make a statement that you are going to be on TV and then dont show up, you look bad. If he cliams to be not hurt he could at least show himself in a tape. BTW- we got one of our POWs back This wont be good on Iraqi TV

They probably won't even show it on Iraqi TV About the seven women and childeren killed; the americans are jumping at every sound... just like when they shot a driver when his car backfired

yeah we are jumpy, but they shot warning shots, then the engine, and then the passenger. IF that driver cant figure that out, they got issues.
POW returned!!!! 2 broken legs, and a broken arm. What is strange is that a local gave a news reporter a note, and that reporter turned it over to the marines. Then they took that info and staged the rescue.

I think Saddam is in his best bunker, if he is alive.
He is probably having face to faces with his Generals about the war strategy.
Meanwhile his fanatics are out and about executing soldiers who refuse to fight. That's my take anyways
The best thing that could happen is if a General puts a bullet into Hussein's head ending the slaughter and destruction.

Our POW Sarah Lynch taht we got back is getting some nice gifts. She went into the military to pay for college, because her family was so poor. Well West Virginia Uni and another school have both offered her full rides to go to their schools . On top of that she often complained about her car so a Shiek from Kuwait has bought her a new ride. Good things happen to good people

Since I consider any war a crime, I don't think the term war "crimes" is necessary... The US can and will use reasons such as security to ensure they rule the place in a forseeable future. As Dubya would say...."Make no mistake about it!"
