i fell asleep, that game was so long it wore me out just watching the thing. If Gugeire plays like this the entire playoffs, they will be very hard to beat. After a 5 ot loss like that that could be a real problem for Dallas. Loosing like thet just breaks you sometimes.
As for that goal in the 3rd Ot, that was a goal. The defenceman was pushing the duck player into the net, and the movement of that net did nothing to the puck in anyway. If that was me i am calling that a gaol. however, always lucky in video replay Dallas and brett "pele" hull can win a stanley cup when he blatently kicked it in.

Just a little thing....
Ya gotta think that, given the motif of this forum... we have to be pulling for the "leaping killer whale" team.... Go Canucks.
And a little evolution of species thing: We all know that the accepted theory is that most cetaceans (whales) descended from a primordial land creature... a large wolf-like animal that returned (?) or migrated and adapted to the sea. The same is true of pinnipeds (seals, walruses...). But did you know that the current thinking is that orcas, which are a large porpoise, are descended from a land animal in the deer family? Thats right, in the forest, the wolves pursue the deer... but in the ocean, its the other way around! What do you think of that TC... that Shamu is a member of the "Deer" family?

now that is very interesting. I get a ton of bambi, john deere, and deer in hedlight jokes. i wondre what they can think of now.
As for the Canucks, that was a "WILD" game last night. scoring with 1 sec left to put it into OT, and then winning. HAHA This playoff season has been a barn burner and we are only in the second round

Hottawa is through, c'mon Canucks. daSilva - As I watched Vancouver being beaten (badly) by the Wild last night, it occurred to me that neither of those teams even come close to the skill level shown by Ottawa as they whipped Philly earlier in the evening. And you know something? Although I'd picked Van over Minn for this round, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see the Wild defeat Van in 7, then go on to play *and lose to* the Ducks (who surprise surprise, sent Dallas packing last night). What's this all mean? Well .... I'll go out on a limb here and say Ottawa is going to win the cup .... they'll take NJ in 6 (might be 5 but will give NJ an extra game to be safe ... NJ has that intangible called 'old guys who've won the cup .... Stevens, Neuy, etc ...). After that, it's either the Sens vs the Ducks, the Wild, or the Canucks, but I don't think any of the western teams can compete with the skill from the east. CFF

Agree, Ottawa and Jersey are probably the best two teams left in the playoffs, although Vancity played awful last night, I hope they got it out of their systems and can now finish off Minnie. I think Van Vs Anaheim would be a good series, but whoever wins the Hottawa Vs Devils series should really take Lord Stanley, but stranger things have happened.

Well Hell....It looks as though our jumping Shamu team is going down. They were up 2-0, but Minnesota has just scored FOUR unanswered goals on 6 shots!!!
WTF!
Now i don't know who to pull for. Ducks? No way... Minnesota Wild? Nah...
I guess it's an Eastern Conference team, but that makes me feel like a traitor. Wuff...
Darn my Stars...it was their year...darn you mighty ducks...I hope Minnesota kicks your butts...>LOL.
Wuff, Rx

So it's official: the Wild vs the Ducks. Which begs the question, will it be a Wild series, or a Ducky one I have to admit, I'd never watched the Wild play prior to this year's playoffs. And they impress me !!! The have character ... and no matter how deep a hole they dig themselves, they always seem to climb out! Lemaire & Reisbrough both deserve a lot of credit. All that being said, I haven't got a clue how they'll match up against Anaheim. Maybe that calls for a CFF

I'm actually happy with the the way things have turned out "over there". With some of the really big teams being knocked out, it means that many of the bigshot pros are now present to play in the World Cup.
Sweden beat Finland in the quarter finals! Woohoo!!!! That must have hurt the Finns, especially seeing that the cup is being played in Finland this year. And what a comeback from the Swedes. At the half way point, Finland was leading 5-1! Very intense game indeed...
Canada beat Germany to move on, but with a 3-2 score, I can't say I was impressed with the Canadians this year.
Semifinals will see the Swedes going up against Slovakia, and Canada fighting the Czech Republic. Hope we don't get another Czech vs Slovakia final.....

Canada taking it easy! I don't think so, not in the quarter finals. Hell, they were tied at the end of the game, and had to go to the new version of the 4th period. Very interesting new rules, with the extended period being played with 4 players per team instead of 5. Given that Germany had one guy out for a penalty at the time, the period began with a 4 against 3 configuration, and so sudden death was almost instant. As for the Russians, they are not particularly good this year, having lost it in the quarter finals. So I wouldn't say the Canadian victory was "impressive" but rather logical. No medal for Russia in 2003....
