You know, I'm kinda pissed by the coverage in the finals. On the cable system where I live, a channel called OLN (Outdoor Life Network) covered the Louis Vuitton Cup. Races were on live and rebroadcast the same night. Now, ESPN2 has the Cup finals and the races are on in the middle of the day while I need to be working, and no evening reporting. So, I watched the ENTIRE elimination process to determine the challenger (And my wife really liked that, watching sailboats) and don't get to see the finals at all. eso

You know, I'm kinda pissed by the coverage in the finals.eso Ditto here eso. There hasn't been one race televised of the finals where I live (Western Canada). And the newspaper coverage has been less than adequete. I find out more HERE than I do in all the other media around me CFF

I guess for once we are extremely lucky that Alinghi made it to the finals, since the Swiss are obviously showing everything live. Only problem is that th races are on something like 3 in the morning, given the time-zone difference However, if you are willing to spend a few bucks, you can get the virtual spectator either from the Alinghi.com site, or I think the Americas cup site. It's almost better than seeing it on TV!!!

Looks like there is a fair chance the cup will make its way back to Europe!
It's now 4-0, after the Team New Zealand broke the mast in yesterday's race. One more to go!!

Greg: Race 5 is scheduled for Saturday (Kiwi time), but the Kiwis can request a delay so they can repair their boat (new mast and recurring leakage problem).

Saturday Kiwi time would be tonight for us, something like 1 in the morning.
I'll keep the TV on just to be sure...

Whatever they decide, I am sure we will be able to see the winning boat on Lake Geneva for display. I can't wait to see this beauty sliding on our waters. And I will even be able to admire it from my window.
Anyone passing through Geneva is more than welcome to get a VIP treatment at our place.
Mark my words: if the next AC is in Auckland, I will be there.
