Ok, SmokinGun suggested a separate thread for cricket WC bets, so here goes. Oz will win against SA in the final... Pakistan's a bit of a dark horse, with a slight chance of making the final, but SA has just decimated them in a recent 1 day and test series, so I can't see them beating OZ if they make the final. Also, any thoughts on the whole Zimbabwe/Cricket thing. IMHO, Zim should never have been allowed to co-host the tournament, and I can't believe that England (of all teams) is actually going to play there. Boycott the bastards!!! Australia will walk it. Not sure if there is a round robin format? if so look at the Aussies to throw 1 game if the odds are right.

The team with the best from at the start of the tournament rarely wins.
Secondly,It's always hard for the Aussies to beat SA in SA. For some reason they always struggle with the wickets.

i wonder how much the loss of bevan will upset the aussies. but they are still my favourites to win. after the last test in australia, it would be hard to dismiss england. they could be peaking at just the right moment. india won't do dog shit smokingun

i must note how bizarre the west indies form on the opening match changed dramatically... most of the game they were lame, and then BAM! kicking some butt.

Wycco, you wouldnt here that much about cricket anymore would you? Almost nothing- however if history teaches us anything- and the last century was anything to go by- England is better off claiming "Snooker" or "Darts" as the national passtime rather than cricket! Ahhh... Snooker- at least there is something we still kick ass at... even if it is only because hardly anyone else plays it! LOL

Yep, the Windies kicked our asses... great way for the home side to start off. There is no way that Oz won't win this thing.
The most annoying thing at the moment is the advertising on TV - EVERY ad has a cricket theme, and most of them are these sentimtental, patriotic odes to South African cricket, saying that we're going to win the world cup etc, etc. Then we go and lose our first game... doh!
