Here's the scoop on the newly opened indoor karting track: It's NOT kiddie cars, but it's a kiddie track. Too short, and not enough challenges! Not a single hairpen, all corners pretty much rated in teh "easy" category, save one difficult 270 degree turn. ;-) I would like to know more details on the karts before I accept that they are not kiddie karts. In my opinion, any indoor kart is a kiddie kart! RacerX, I'll take you any day, anywhere on a real track with a real kart. None of this Malibu shit!! The 2003 season has begun, and don't say I didn't warn you! P.S. I even would race you with one of those kiddie karts on an indoor track!!

ROFLMAO...OK, here's what I have on the karts...
It seems they were ordered from Europe. They look like the karts that were drove at Indy (cine_man & myself), BUT.....(no try NOT to hurt yourself from laughing)....they shift gears, however they are "Automatic"!
Automatic shifters?? Wuff, this is strange, but that's what I have been told by my boss.
OK, more later...after I can get Pabs to meet me there...LOL!
Wuff, RacerX

Hey, if you they have a web site, please post the link. This could be fun.
Mind you, it's the engines I'm most interested in.

Team Feline and DeadCat Practice at RS-Kartcenter... (www.rs-kartcenter.de)
Well, just last night the boys from work and I did a few rounds at the Kart track just south of Hamburg.... (My first shot)....
2 x 10 lap races, heaps of fun....
It was a pity but the outdoor track was booked, so we had to use the indoor and make the best of it....
My best lap: 47.66 in first round... (over 1-sec under the next best in our set) My average lap: 48.63 in second round... Day track record: 45.01 (and we saw this get set by track employees and those karts revved a lot higher than ours)
Needless to say, I got to keep the Champaign...
On track in the first session I tried to take Henriks advice and drive smoothly but it just wasn’t happening. I was still very green to the track it was basically, turn – brake – controlled understeer – find apex – accelerate – controlled oversteer – avoid barrier – pick line for next corner...
Needless to say, my arms where buggered after the first round and I initially had trouble lifting the “half-way“ beer as my arms seemed frozen in a steering wheel like vice. I knew then that if I was going to survive the second round I had to change my driving style, pick my line and braking points and generally drive smoother.
Well, I may not have broken my single lap speed in the second session but I was only 1 tenths of a second off, my lap times were also much more consistent, and I was a lot less buggered at the end of it all....
All in all, a hell of a lot of fun for a practice session for the Shamu Karting Championships......
(DeadCat)
Will be scheduling a second session soon.....
Hehe, driving home at 200kmph is also fun.....(and legal too...)
