Without discussing Palestinians for a moment, I think it is fair to say that Islamic fundamentalists are pretty guilty of the kind of hatred you are talking of.
I'm not talking about Islam in general at all before I get jumped on, I am obviously talking about the likes of Al Qaeda and Islamic Jihad etc.
There seems to be no shortage of these kinds of groups who truly do hate us to the point that their own destruction is considered a small price to pay for the destruction of Westerners, Israeli or not.
We are all somewhat at threat from them to some degree or another. While the probability is small that we will find ourselves the victim of any attack, there are very real dangers from these groups that security forces around the world need to be alert to and we all take precaution against. Just yesterday British Airways for security reason stopped flying to Saudi Arabia. It is a shame for law abiding Saudis who would like to get a direct flight to London.
To Israel and Palestine.
Now, I know all the arguments about Israel. Israel could and should handle many things differently and some of their tough responses to some attacks do little other than provoke further attacks, and having since seen the pictures of the location of the wall, I am now against the wall, however, the reason for many of the actions, including the wall are to do with security not hatred.
Israel faces a far bigger fundamentalist terrorist threat from a huge concentration of these groups than we can imagine and they are reeling from a series of horrific bombings and are making tough laws to attempt to prevent further attacks.
Israelis in general do not hate Palestinians like you suggest. No doubt some do, but given the blood shed that has occured between them, I think you might be surprised if you ever visited israel to find that plenty of Israelis live very peacefully with Palestinians, and Israeli / palestinian friendships are not rare one offs but are actually fairly common where they mix.
Their fight is not about mutual hatred, it is about mistrust.
There are two strands to their dispute.
Number 1. They are fighting over a piece of land.
That is the primary cause of the conflict, not because they hate each other because they are different as you suggest. Howver, there is that element, yes on both sides it is true, show me any nation that doesnt have a few mad people.
Number 2, secondary reason is religious madness. Yes on both sides, I wont argue that, but I will argue if you tell me it is balanced. Israel is much more secular than you might think and very westernized in general, and while I totally agree the vast majority of Palestinians are like minded there are huge organized groups on the Palestinian side who subscribe to the same beliefs taught by Al Qaeda and really do hate Israelis and all westerners, simply because as you do say, they are different.
By the way,
I'm not asking as a rhetoric question, I am genuinely asking the following question, I would like to know as a comparison,
if a person from say Yemen or Saudi married an American, does that person get the right to live here straight away?
