wycco Israel is not a racist country but it faces a very serious terrorist threat. Tell me the US is not concerned about letting Arabs into the US. Of course it is. It sounds horrifically racist, however watching the news every other night we see some shocked discussion about how people from some middle eastern country or another could enter the country one way or another and it is a security risk they need to address etc. As students, or via Canada or they could enter on flights avoid customs by having a transfer on an outbound flight through the US, allowing potential terrorists from the middle east (yes they use that phrase here all the time) entry to the US. We need to close that gap allowing potential terrorsits from the middle east into the US they say. Tell me that isnt the case! If it is the US is just as guilty of the same racism you talk of. Israel has a far more significant terrorist threat on its doorstep than the US that is very real. Once more, at its peak, quite recently there were daily attacks and even twice daily attacks from people who entered Israel through a porous border, who looked like ordinairy citizens but who were on a mission of murder. If Israel did not button down the whole border and immigration issue on all palestinians then they would continue to face walk in bombers. Oh and by the way. Not that it matters, but just because you keep mentioning it, there are genetic differences between Israelis and Arabs. In fact there had been some talk a while ago about so called ethnic bombs that Israel was supposedly developing. This was bullshit propanganda against Israel but talked of developing specific biological warfare that could target the genes unique to Arabs but not Jews. Look up ethnic bomb on the internet for that kind of info if you like. heres an url to save you the trouble. www.ihr.org/jhr/v17/v17n6p24_Weber.html

wycco Israel is not a racist country Ha Ha Ha israel is the most racist country in the world and judaism is the most racist religion in the world, bar none. Smoking Gun: Since Sept 28th 2000 (the start of the latest Intifada) over 2600 Palestinians have been murdered by israel. of these 2600; 325 were under 15, 160 were over 50 years old and 173 were female.

By the way, it is actually Israel that is being walled in, not the Palestinians, they are being walled out.. Israel being walled in? Have you ever even seen a map of the area? First of all, the area is land-locked inside Israel, bordering toward Jordan. How on earth can you claim that building a wall around that area is actually walling in Israel? Here is a map of the area and the planned wall:

Who won, Here is a better map. How you can say that by building a wall around the West Bank it is Israel that is being walled in is beyond my understanding.

Racist or not racist ? That is the question....
Back to the subject at hand....the Israeli parilament has voted 53 to 25 to adopt a law forbidding Palestinians married to Israelis for living in Eretz Israel. In such cases, the coupleswill either have to move elsewhere or live apart. Their children can stay, but only until they reach the age of 12. THEN THEY MUST LEAVE. One cabinet minister claimed the law was needed for security reasons, citing "a significant connection" between suicide attacks and Palestinians who gained Israeli citizenship through marriage. Israeli human rights group B'Tselem says that is just a way of hidding "the real reason, the racist reason", pointing out that, of 100,000 Palestinian/Israeli marriages, only 20 people have been ACCUSED of militant activity. Speaking to Reuter, an israeli arab commented that he "lost all hope". Wed to a plaestininan woman, he's been hiding his wife from police for the past year, and thinks it best to continue doing so.
So here you have it...According to Israeli human rights group, Israeli policy toward Arabs are indeed racist... Next we'll be told that the sky is blue and that water is, indeed, humid...
Peace, Srrh

Just to clarify, Arabs and Jews are basically of the same race. What you people are discussing is bigotry, not racism.

the racism if any stems from fear. fear of not being able to distinguish between an innocent civillian and a terrorist. when you live with the fear of a bomb going off in your face, or the thought that every time a loved one walks out of the door would be the last time you see the loved one; it tends to change your perspective. the killing must stop.
sometimes i think that the extremists from both sides serve each other well. sacrificing the innocents so that their reign on power continues.
at the end of it all, we are just animals that have the power to think, to analyse and to feel emotions. we only live once, we can all choose to make the best of what we have and reach out to other people or we can choose to be blind prejuduiced pricks, letting our culture, our colour, and our beleifs stand in our way.
about the mixed marriages part, it's a shame that laws such as those exist. but having lived through the fear of a terrorist attack, and not knowing whom to trust and who not to, i can understand why they felt the need to make such draconian laws. let's just notch that up as a round in favour of hate. with the extremists in his corner, hate seems to have the best team in what looks like a tag team match from hell.

Just to clarify, Arabs and Jews are basically of the same race. What you people are discussing is bigotry, not racism. Indeed- The Arabs in Palestine are the Jews that stayed when the Muslims conquered the area. Most that stayed converted to Islam to have lower taxes. Most of the Jews in the lands formerly known as Levant, today are ones that fled- occasionally interbred with Europeans and then came back. Genetically speaking Palestinians are just "pure-blood" Jews...

Whats your point wycco? even if that were true, I dont get what your point even is.
So what about genetics, I wouldnt call it a fact but even if it was.
Are you saying that if they would only realise they are of the same hereditary then all would be resolved? If so you are arguing from a very racist sounding standpoint. Whether they are the same race or not has nothing to do with anything. What they are though are two distinct nations/peoples who have little trust of each other.
Why discuss genetics is beyond me.
What if it were black and white, would that make the argument easier to understand?

Who Won,
As da Silva pointed out- it was in reference to Racism vs Bigotry.
But more to the point- they hate each other for being "different"- when really, religion aside, there isn't that much difference between the Arabs and the Jewish people.
I was just making a testament to the ludicrousness of their mutual hatred.
