In my defense, I've been pulling 16-hour workdays for the last 2 weeks including Sat and Sun so I really didn't have much time to read it. Though I'm impressed that Ruby and Cine's daughter read it in under 24 hours. Dunno if I could have...
Cine, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Anakin's brush with the Dark Side sort of permanent? I don't think Harry will ever cross over to the dark side, but a lot of the stuff that happens in this book leaves that as a possibility.
Ruby, I know you were waiting for me to finish so I think I need to repay the favor to Cine_ and wait for him to finish.

LOL Pabs, I bought the book at midnight on friday, and would have read it by the afternoon of saturday, but for child wanting to read it! I was actually slower than usual, I'm a very fast reader. Cine_ man doesn't have long! I'm not waiting much longer to discuss, but he has until the end of the weekend!!! Besisdes, he can always avoid this thread, just in case.

OK large apologies, DONE!!!!!!!!
My spouse is working her way through, now.
Hem, hem.
Canadians will love that... its also beautfully done by Royal Canadian Air Farce Luba Goy in imitation of HRH QE2.
Harry's brush with the dark side begins with his insights into Voldemort's mind, and the common emotions he shares with a number of the Death Eaters, especially with the Pensieve revelations about Snape's past with that of his father. Now we understand the lightning mark. It works just like the DarkMark. and pabs, Anakin's passage as Darth Vader was just that, a passage... even though he renounced the Dark Side at the end of his life, it did indeed end with redemption.
All in all, IMHO, the best yet... a ripping yarn. JKR is writing with confidence and style, hitting her stride. The best IS yet to come.
