If 10% of this is true, Dubya will have all the proof he needs.

Anyone see the Southpark called "Ladder to heaven"? There was a funny one-liner in that where a Washington spokesperson, arguing that an attack on heaven was inevitable (thanks to Saddam building weapons of mass destruction there), said:
"We'll have to destroy their weapons... using our weapons."
That's kinda how I feel about this war - the US has more weapons of mass destruction than anyone else, AND a leader who really seems to like killing people. What makes the US any less of a threat to stability and peace than Iraq? I don't wanna hear anything about democracy, coz I don't believe Bush was democratically elected (but that's another story altogether).
I say ALL war should be avoided at ALL costs.

It's really only a war if Saddam fights it. The Moron should realise his time is over.

LOL at BrainFade's SouthPark episode. I don't know how, or WHY...but I actually saw that one! I found it a little offensive, but I was too lazy to change the channel. I was on the computer, and the remote to the TV was across the room...LOL! (Hey, Hey...it was Saturday...I'm allowed to be a lazy pig on Saturday!) ;-)
Anyway, I find most of SouthPark's stuff is offensive to someone, most of the time, but I guess it can be funny too.
As for Powell's speech, I saw it in it's entirety....I'm pretty impressed with their case. It seems to be What do we do:
Either attack and stop him now.
OR
Wait and see what he'll do in the future.
I'm thinking his track record isn't very good, and it's obvious he (Saddam) is continuing to seek out nuclear capabilites. It does bother me, that some would prefer to sit around and see what Saddam will do once he gets this capability. I have no doubt he'd use it.
Unfortunately, I can't bet on Saddam becoming a reasonable person after developing such weapons...
As for the comment about Bush enjoys having people killed? I would ask you to show me his record, of where he has had people killed.
If you're refering to the thousands of starving children in Iraq, I would say that's NOT Bush's fault, but instead blame that on Saddam himself. His country has an above average income, and he chooses to spend it on developing weapons & building palaces for himself.
That money could easily be spent on food development, hospitals, and SCHOOLS instead. I'd love to see a comparison of the newest school build while Saddam was leading Iraq, versus one of his latest palaces.
Either way, I'm getting off topic, but Saddam needs to go. I only hope the people of Iraq realise this isn't against THEM as a poeple, but Saddam as a man. Shame many will no doubt die protecting this man should war come about...

I was wondering WHEN that would be brought up! I heard this last week! Too funny, no?
AND to think Powell told the UN they are on the verge of becomming....what was the word again....
...inconsequintial...or something like that? LOL!
I'll have to go look it up...wuff, my memory...

LOL... what are the rules to heading the comittees?
I assume it is on some sort of rotary basis... but do countries need to apply to head a comittee?
This is too funny... although I do hope somehow they get blocked- there has to be some measures to prevent this from happening?!?!?

Rx - When I said Bush enjoys killing people, I meant that he clearly has no regard for the lives of civilians that were killed in Afghanistan, or the ones that will surely die in a war in Iraq. Further, sanctions against Iraq have killed more innocents than Saddam himself, while having little impact on the regime that these sanctions were intended to disable. Bush has declared war on 2 countries in under two years, while threatening a number of others - how many countries has Iraq declared war on in that time?
I'm not defending Saddam, coz he's no great shakes himself, but I believe that the US (or any other country) should stay out of other people's business. But then again, this is very much America's business - it's oil, not human rights concerns that are at the centre of this issue.
Anyway, I'm a big SouthPark fan. It's soooo irreverent to just about everybody/thing possible. I know they're gonna say stuff that might piss me off, but hey, it's funny!!!! ;D

Rx,
I’m astounded that you found a South Park episode offensive. Anyone who regularly watches southpark will agree that each and every episode is designed to offend someone or at least some ethnic group.
- What about the episode where Cartman sold aborted fetus’s for personal gain… - Or the episode where someone pissed Cartman off and he tricked them into eating his own parents…
It’s SouthParks offensive nature that makes it funny…..
(DeadCat)
Oh, is there a war on? You wouldn't know it over here.......

DeaadCat...I said I'm guessing that SouthPark's intent was to offend! I don't regulaurly watch it, it happened to come on a channel (Commedy Central, I think) that the TV was left on, while I was playing on the computer.
I caught phrases & clips of it. I admit, some funny, some offensive. No big deal!
I would NOT choose to watch it regularly, I guess is the point I'm making...if any at all. ;-)
BrainFade, we have to understand (like it or not) that lives are going to be lost in any war...declared or not. So I suppose Churchill & Truman must have "enjoyed" killing during WWII, no?
I'm sure you know that's not true. Our civilization isn't civilized enough yet, to not need war, so until then, there will be needless loss of life. These people mentioned had to make the terrible choice of who's lives would be lost...their own country men's, or the opposition. In all cases, parties from each lost lives.
So are we condeming Bush for making a tough decision that he thinks is right? Given the situation, I wonder what else would work? UN sanctions only cause more starving and death of the innocent. bush's way will at least bring an end to that, in the long run...and probably bring and end to those that are responsible for the innocent's death: read Saddam. He has a choice, he's made a choice, and I'm figuring he's about to pay for that choice.
No, two wrongs don't make a right, but what would you recommend? It's proven that he'd use biological weapons on his own countryman...Who knows what he'd do if he had the capabilites for a long range strike.
Do you think for an instant he wouldn't use nuclear weapons on either the U.S. or Isreal, or any other country he's at odds with?
Also, I know the European media really gave Bush alot of hell for his comment on the axis of evil...but if you look today, it seems he was right. I just saw where N.Korea fired up their reactor...against the will of China, USA, South Korea, and the UN.
H'mm.....wonder what's next.
These rogue dictators can NOT be allowed to continue the course they've chosen. I would think for the betterment of humanity, they must be deterred, or stopped.
It's crazy, I know, and obviously there's no simple solution.
Just thinking aloud, RacerX
