TC; yes there were a lot more than 12 but the americans vetoed them. Of the 12? that went through, I think America only backed 3 and abstained on the others.

French Flip Flop Despite fierce opposition to war in Iraq, France may join the military coalition if Saddam Hussein unleashes chemical or biological weapons. French ambassador Jean-David Levitte told CNN the use of weapons of mass destruction would "change completely the perception and the situation for us." He said the French military had equipment to fight "under these circumstances" and could join the coalition if forces came under such attack.

LOL...
I think if you look back (I'm too busy) you'll find I predicted France would change sides when the war started...
Typical pattern for France... they always want the attention on themselves...
"Look Ma' [UN] I can blow up Iraq just as good as big bro can!"

TC; coincidently, I got this today in part of a longer email.
As for the hoopla about vetoes, the United States is second only to the Soviet Union in exercising the U.N. veto. The scorecard, compiled by the BBC News, is: the Soviet Union/Russia, 120 vetoes (only two of those since the Soviet Union collapsed); the United States, 76 vetoes? 35 used to block criticism of Israel (that old double standard has the United States in its grip); the United Kingdom, 32 vetoes, of which 23 were votes cast with the United States; France, 18 vetoes, 13 of which were in support of the United States' position; and China, 5 vetoes.
