Final-hole bogey keeps Sorenstam from par
Sorenstam enjoys her birdie at No. 13. (AP) Her putter did her no favors, yet Annika Sorenstam still had a par putt to finish with a 70 in her PGA Tour debut. Instead, she finished with a 1-over-par 71 -- the only time all day she was over par. Sorenstam became the first woman since Babe Zaharias in 1945 to play in a PGA Tour event
OK i dont mind a woman playing in the PGA, but if you are gonna make the jump don't hand pick an event, play the entire year. If i am going to make a jump i am not going to try to just "make the cut" i want to win the events i play in. This to me is a joke and i see it nothing as a publicity stunt to get attention.
As an athelete you play to win, not play to get buy. that is waht pisses me off about this situation

True, i wish her well. I just wish that if a woman was going to take a leap like this it would be for a possible win.

She has chosen that course because it is a placement course and not a power course, I don’t see anything wrong with that. Enter a competition you can perform well in, skip the ones that you do not have the physical strength to compete in, seems like common sense to me???

Considering the amount of attention she recieved from the media and the gallery yesterday I think she did an outstanding job.
That said I don't see any upside for the LPGA in this scenario. If she does well then the women should be playing with the men. If she does badly then it will degrade the impression of quality golf the LPGA play.

Annika Sorenstam was good enough to play against the men, but only for two days. Her historic ride at the Colonial ended abruptly Friday afternoon when she stumbled to five bogeys in a span of eight holes and missed the cut by four shots.
What happened i didn't see it?

Actually she couldn't play the entire PGA tour even if she wanted to (and maybe she does). She can only participate on events where she is invited.
Note to the other PGA tour courses, please invite Annika again!! Hootie, are you listening?
