My son will be in Dallas for a few days at the end of the month, working at the Ritchie Bros. Auctions. So if there is anyone who wants to challenge him on a go-cart track, let me know. He is 6ft 2ins and weighs 85 kilos, so if he beats you it will not be because he is some skinny kid.

Danny Boy, I'm not sure what's in it for you. If I read between the lines I may just me in for a big surprise if I had to beat your son to the chequered flag. No, I don't think I'll take up the challenge. Why don't you speak to this fella: I believe he is no light-weight when it comes to arranging challenges. The $'s are good too.

Be warned, I have been on several piss-ups with him that have gone into double digit hours. One classic night, 12 (6 couples) of us had gone to Koh Samui for the millennium. Come the early evening of 31/12/1999 and Danny (my son) came up and said "anyone want any amphetamine? "2 guys, both in there 40's and never haven taken speed before, said they were up for some”. It was a great night, our chalets were on the Beach and we spent the night eating and drinking on the beach along with several hundred others people. Come the following (late) morning, Robbie and Dick, the guys who had taken the speed, were still sitting at the bar on the beach, having been unable to get too sleep. As everyone started to drift down to the beach/bar Danny was the last to turn up. Robbie and Dick asked where he had been; Danny shrugged his shoulders and said, “I’ve been in bed sleeping”. Dick gave a snort and said, “Sleeping, we’ve been up since last night because of that speed you gave us, how come you were sleeping?” Danny, who had got a Mi-Thai by this time and was sitting down on a nearby chair screwed his eyes up and said” I took some sleeping tablets”. The look on Dicks face was a picture. For those of you who don’t know the effect of amphetamine, the major effect is you will be unable to sleep for 18 or so hours, another, more dramatic effect is, your Willie shrivels up to the size of a walnut, and nothing, nothing you do, will restore it to it’s normal state, as Dicks wife took great delight in telling us later.

El Sid; Nothing sinister, he loves racing and if there is someone to race against it makes it a bit more interesting. The fact that racerX and pabs both race carts somewhere in Texas made it seem an obvious challenge. I will even put up a cup if they are interested.

Danny,
I'd love to race against your son! Problem is: I'm sort of stuck here in Austin with work until the early days of July. If he could manage to come down here for a weekend or something then I'm definitely up for it.
Under different circumstances I'd have no problem making the trip up to Dallas, but if I don't finish the work I've got, I don't get to go to Germany in August and then there will be hell to pay as I have promised Henrik and Greg that I'll come down to Geneva for a couple days...and I really don't want to be in Greg's bad side again.
