Did anyone see what happened between Sperafico and Wirdheim? I couldn't see the incidence- but I do know Sperafico is a bit of a hot-head.
Great race by Townsend Bell- he was on a tear until Freisacher took him out. (I've lost alot of respect for ol' nutsacks- due to him being blatantly at fault and cursing out Townsend in the pits!)
Faultless race from Toccy and Luizzi- although I confess I was hoping they would collide again so that Kiesa would win again...
Gianmarria- good race- my opinion on him is improving.
Now we get to our man Kiesa- good race, but he blatantly jumped the start... if you get a chance to rewatch the race- watch Kiesa, he takes 2 positions on the grid before anyone even gets really rolling.
Does anyone ever get penalised for jumping the start in F3000? Pantano did it in Monaco without punnishment- now the Great Kiesa did... what gives?

Ric had a rear puncture; Bjorn's front wing fell off. Sounds like Wirdheim to me. And I admit to being surprised. What was with Pantano? He was sooo off the pace it appeared all weekend? I forget, mind, the reason behind him losing a lap. Friesie was probably trying to get his own back for the idiot breaking his arm last time they were wheel to wheel. Remember? Vitantonio gets better and better. I do hope he wins a race this season. Didn't I tell you Giammaria was doing a good job? He has been a bit up and down, but he has potential - now if only this years '3000 grid had more depth. F3000's regulation keeping is bizarre. They are usually pretty harsh - I find it strange you think they didn't get penalised - I would be surprised they didn't jump on them. They usually do. Makes a change - will let you know about the Pantano/Monaco one in 2 weeks when ITV show it. Examples of harshness with regards to rules: - DSQ for pulling a bit of tape from your front wing in parc ferme
- Exclusion from race after qulaifying for contaminated fuel (they changed the fuel regs mid season and they were using the old stuff by mistake), only get in because team makes teammate pull out so there's an extra place on the grid. Effectively costs you the championship
- One car almost comes to a standstill - 3 cars overtake it. safety car comes out. All three get 10 sec stop go. Highest finishes 10th (?) AND HE WOULD HAVE WON HIS FIRST GODDAMN F3000 RACE!!!!
I'm sure there's more. Those three just niggle me! lol! All we need now. mind, is for Wirdheim to have a couple more bad races, and Kiesa to keep finishing on the podium. Then we will be saved from the shame of the 'slow gaudy coloured FPA guy' from winning the championship Btw, Wyc, I think if you look at Alonso at Nuerburging, he had handling problems akin to those that Kiesa suffered (maybe not so bad mind) at Barcelona. Probably more compareable to those suffered by Ric (who parked it into the pits after losing 4/5? places)

I think I might be wrong about Pantano jumping the start at Monaco- It was the race Pantano WON that he jumped the start at... Can't remember which race that was now- my mind has become one big blur...
I posted it in a previous thread back in May. So I guess it was Austria or Barcelona.
Re: Pantano- I think his poor race form was primarily a result of poor qualifying. I think he clipped someone early on that might have weakend his wing (Speedvision made the comment that they saw a tyre mark on his front wing- before the event that took it off??? although I couldn't see it myself!)
Maybe it could have been an off race. In San Marino Pantano didn't look too hot.

I think the Pantano race jump start was Barcelona actually Anyway, was Magny Bores so boring it didn't warrant a mention, Wyc? Fairly processional, and I've forgotten what happened already! lol! But anything of note, or worth commenting on?

Only got to see about 5 minutes of the race- had to nip out and pick up a moving truck.
(Mum-in-law moved- we had to take all Em's junk from the attic back to our house).

I've just been looking through a few of my old e-mails and found this story which you may not have heard. It originates from around Spa last season (may have happened at Hungary race the week before).

Kiesa is a good sport to go get the autograph!
Must say- from his interviews he seems a very decent bloke.
Faultless English... even has a good British accent!

He's a really really nice bloke. I like the Danes.
As for the accent - danes that work here always pick up the British accents soooo easily!! Ex-Manchester UNited goalie Peter Schmichel (spelling?) alwyas had a broad Mancunian accent!!
And Kristian Kolby (former F3 driver - always seemed v. friendly with that Button guy - only racing driver I have ever seen walking around the Donington paddock with armfuls (!) of chips!) was always the same - he lived in Cheshire (3 cheers Wyc!!! lol!) and always sounded like it.
Compared to those two, Kiesa's accent is VERY Danish, notice he has a very slight (and only occassional) twang to his speech. I often wonder what a Danish accent sounds like, though Tom Kristensen has one, but I think it's quite British sounding (at least in English) anyway.
I don't remember Jason Watt having a Danish accent either, but I think his father is Jamaican, so maybe having a British accent is somewhere in between.

We had a Danish family living in our neighbourhood in England for 3 years... the Danish mum, and my mum were best friends.
I was about 5-7 at the time- so my memories arn't too clear- but I always thought their accent was almost Germanic in sound.
