Thursday 7th August, a day to remember, why you ask, a day when life just really comes and kicks you where you don't really expect it !! Driving home along I95 as usual, just after 5 and the traffic just comes to a complete standstill....we've all been there, you stop, look, look a little more and realise that your not going anywhere for a while, what is your usual reaction Same as mine, all you want to do is get the F**k home, right Wrong !!! I sat there for a few minutes and realised that the rainstorm I was watching coming across 95 a couple of miles ahead is the debris cloud from a freakin Tornado If i'd continued I would have gone right through it....... So, next time your held up in traffic, just remember, you really don't know what's 2 miles up the road waiting for you, I ain't gonna complain for a while............

Hi Trickie, Long time no see... I feel left out- I never get to witness tornados. They happen fairly frequently in these parts- but "luckily" I've never actually been close to one... Perhaps I need to move into a trailer... ;D

Man, I'll never forget experiencing a tornado warning in Milwaukee once. Scary moment!!
We were leaving the track after Saturday qualifying, and suddenly the radio switched to some person talking. I hit the search, only to find it was the same thing on every station! So, we listened, and found out there was a tornado warning. We were told not to stay in our cars, but seek cover!
Had no idea what to do, and so I figured we would just try and drive back to the safety of our hotel. Suddenly in the intersection in front of us, the police lady who was doing the traffic ran for cover as the metal barriers started flying around!!
Driving towards town, I looked in the mirror, only to see a sky as black as I have never seen it before. Windy as hell too. Got to the car park, with sirens howling all over the place.
In the end, no tornado hit, but it was a really scary moment.

Hell last month we had nothing but Tornado warnings every day for at least 3 weeks. The flooding alone brought the rivers up some 30 feet. Houses were getting smashed everynight, and the rain just sucked. MY brothers neighborhood was destroyed, and he had to run into a bathtub with his daughter to take cover. I have seen a few tornados up close, and trust me when they are 100 meters in front of you, you get spooked really fast. I got a pic of the Indy speedway with a Tornado going over the top of it, really freaky. it gets quiet and suddenly you hear something like a train get your ass in gear! those things up close sound wicked Yes it worked!!
