I've recently set up a Local Area network at home- linking up my computer with my wife's...
Anyone know of any fun games- that we (me & Emy) might both enjoy... On my lunch break I purchased a copy of Quake II for 10 bucks from Best Buy- I'm going to install that on both machines tonight.
I want something fairly cheap (thats why I went for Quake II an older game)- and preferably one you don't need the CD to play (so that I don't have to buy two CDs- one for each computer)...
Anyone know of any good multiplayer games I can set up on a LAN?

I know this is a new game but Unreal tournament 2003 comes out soon.
I know the original Unreal tournament needs a disk
Quake 3 arena keeps asking for serial numbers but that it ok.
try a sports game like FIFA or something like that

Damn- perfect timing- my video card just blew out!
Have to replace that now...
The problem with EA- is you need the CD in to play their games- I don't want to have to buy two sets of CD's to play with my wife in my own home.

There's a really cool game that Henrik and I play on our computers (almost) simultaneously. We wouldn't be able to do that if we didn't have a LAN here.
It's called FPOTM, FPOTD, FPOTY.......

Ahh if you blew a Video card get a G-force. I just got one and it is working great. They got a few deals out there so see what you can get for a resonable price.

Age of empire II: ages of kings. Install on both PC, then download the "no cd" patch form the web, install on both PC again and voila: you can be Gengis Kan and Emy can be Elisabeth and you can go medieval on each other. Or install GP3, sticks 2 wheels on them, and ram into her like if there was no Jerez 97 !! Or you can also both drive Ferraris and let each other go through... Endless fun...

Yes, I second the motion on the GeForce video card.
I've got a G4 MX440 and I get something like 72 frames per second on MicroSoft Combat Flight Sim2, F1-2002 runs like glass -- I haven't tried lacing up GPL yet.
I can't advise on LAN games... Motocross Madness is apparently fun, or Monster Truck!
But you need controllers, like steering wheels or joysticks... I have a 2-PC home with a local LAN but my significant others are utterly uninterested in gaming.

Actually- I have Motorcross madness- but I believe you need the CD to run it.
I'll look into Video Cards- I don't have much spare money at the moment- so I need one that is not too expensive!
