OK- well there are 9 days left before the poll expires- but it looks overwhelmingly like the constructors points will be determined by the top 2 drivers in each team.
THIS POLL IS ASSUMING THAT THIS OPTION WINS!
OK- lets specify this further so that I code this the way everyone is expecting...
When we say top 2 drivers in each team- should it be BY RACE... or OVERALL...
Imagine 2 teams:
Team A has
Driver A1, Driver Alpha, and Driver Apple
Team B has
Driver B1, Driver Beta, and Driver Bannana
Now imagine the following 3 races occur with the drivers finnishing in the following order...
Race 1: B1, A1, Alpha, Beta, Bannana, Apple
Race 2: Bannana, A1, Alpha, Apple, B1, Beta
Race 3: Beta, A1, Alpha, Apple, B1, Bannana
The Drivers Championship would look like this...
WDC
A1 18
B1 14
Beta 14
Bannana 13
Alpha 12
Apple 7
Now if we decide to chose OVERALL top two drivers from each team- for team A we would add A1's score to Alpha's score and get 32 (team B would have 28 points, B1's score plus Beta's score)
Thus Team A would win using OVERALL scoring.
Instead if we decide to chose the points for each team on a race by race basis the results would be different.
In each race Team A's top 2 drivers finnish 2nd and 3rd earning a total of 10+10+10= 30 points
Team B won each race plus came 4th for race 1 and 5th for race 2... so Team B's score would be...
13+12+12 = 37points
So using RACE BY RACE scoring Team B would win instead of Team A.
