I love music more than anything else in the world. And i was wondering what people on this forum listen to? Dont be scared, nobody will make fun of your taste. even if it goes back to the Backstreet Boys or the Spice Girls. Cause after all, we all have music inside of us.
Here are a few bands and singers that i really like. Sublime Dave Matthews Band Tragically hip Mettalica Pearl Jam Red Hot Chilly Peppers
I am really wondering if their are any other Dave Matthews Band fans out there? Their music is so good and original. All their songs are good. Same stands with Sublime. I think they are the two best bands of the 90's.

From Jazz to opera, all the way to Trance...I love it all except bluegrass/country and Muzak.
DM is OK. I have his double live album.... Listen to Dave Mathew feat. Fat boy slim though...loads of fun...
Nowadays, I listen to Lounge, Downbeat and World Music (Fila Brazilia, Gotan Project, Penjabe MC, Medival Pundits...)
In french, my fav. rock band of all time just died: it was named Noir Désir and the lead, Bertrand Cantat is imprissoned for allegedly killing his GF 2 weeks ago.
I also like the classics: Iggy Pop, The Velevet Underground, Jefferson Airlplane, Dead Kenedys, Sex Pistols and Pre-90 U2.
For my personal shame, I use to be a Franky Goes to Hollywoood fan...

For my personal shame, I use to be a Franky Goes to Hollywoood fan... S. I pretty much like anything, although techno and all its derivatives is not really my style. Not much in to rap either... Favourite bands... Toto, probably my all-time favourite. Old Genesis (Peter Gabriel days) Saga Rush (well let's say up until the Exit Stage Left live album) Journey Actually there is so much music I really like to listen to. Most recent groups that I have enjoyed I suppose would be The Calling and Nickelback. Also, I enjoy musicians with incredible talent, something that is obvious with Toto and Rush. But there is also fusion Jazz like a Japanese band called Casiopea. Santana is another obvious one. Then there is Paco de Lucia, the greatest flamenco guitarist ever. In general I'm also a fan of the 80's music, with too many bands to mention.

Probably their most famous song is Asayake. You need to find the live recordings if possible, as it is truly there that the artist express themselves fully.
The drummer is one of the best ever, and one of my all time favourite drummers.

Hmm, music,
I also like anything bar Techno and Rap. That shit creeps me out…. (Oh, and I despise mushy Girly crap and preproduced shit)
- Offspring - Therapy - The Eagles - Clash - Everclear - FooFighters - Living End - Lou Reed (with Nico) – i.e. his early stuff, see: The Velvet Undergound - Neil Diamond - Dire Straights - Talking Heads (only a few songs) - Violent Femmes - Queen - ABBA. (Yes, you can head bang to ABBA whilst on acid.) - Cat Stevens - Simon and Garfunkal - Bob Marley - Elton John (Maybe a fag, but very talented. See also: Queen) - Pink Floyd - ACDC - Tracy Chapman - The Who - Mozart - Bach - Beethoven - Buddy Holly - Jerry Lee Lewis - Janis Joplin - CCR - Doors - Beatles
+ so many more I can’t remember off the top of my head…
I know, it’s quite a mix.
But I find I can work to rock, metal, etc types of music, but I can’t work whilst listening to good classical music. My mind gets drawn into the music and I end up in a dream inside the music and doing absolutely nothing productive….
Also love Burt_Bacarach’s “This Guy”, that’s a cool song….
Great Aussie bands to listen too: - Cold Chisel (Khe Sahn, Bow River, Star Hotel, When the war is over) - Aussie Crawl (Reckless, Indisposed, Oh no not you again)

Australian Crawl!! Do they still exist?
Also, I still have fond memories of a Men at Work concert here....

On Aussie Crawl, I doubt they are still around; James Rayne (spelling?) did try to go solo but ended up sounding ending quite gay… (i.e. happy, lol)
Men at Work were cool but way too teenie for me….. If that makes any sense….
I also never got into Midnight Oil, way too political.
(DeadCat)
Though we did see Air Supply live in Bangkok, the (then girlfriend now turned wife) loved it. Won’t forget when they picked some pretty Thai girl out of the audience and they were talking to her and he said to her:
“You look very pretty”
And she answered:
“I know”
ROFL…..

Since I saw the Rolling Stone emerge on the scene! I guess you could say I have seen most of the music trends, I can say that I hate the Paul McCartney's/Tom Jones/Elvis Presley’s of the pop worlds. I do like a wide variety of other artists. The music that really gets me in the happy/good old day’s mood, Punk, I just loved that time. The early 70’s was such pretentious crap with the super groups and their 20 x 40 ton trucks (sorry all you Genesis/ELO fans) and then came The Stranglers, 4 men and a transit van with their equipment, singing in an East End Pub. I once saw Dire Straights (1977) and we had free beer if you got to the pub before 7:30. Also saw The Tubes at Nottingham when the lead singer fell into the crowd and broke his leg, caused a bit of a panic, he was wielding a chainsaw at the time. Today, Scooter/Avril Lavange (spelling) are favorites.
