MotoGP race this weekend at Donington!! Woohoo!!
Bayliss is looking good so far, having the second best qualifying time today, just behind Rossi. I expect much from Troy this weekend as here is a track that he does know from the WSBK days.

well... all i can say is that i wish i recieved the 125 coverage, because if it is supposed to be better than the 250, and leagues ahead of the 500, then thats something i really really want to see!
Unfortunately i was really sleepy during the 500 race(it was about 2am) and fell asleep towards the end, but the 250 was awesome!

Actually this weekend's races were probably the least eventful of the season....
The 125cc race was good, with a tough final lap seeing (the idiot!) Perugini ram Pedrosa of the track in the last hairpin!!
Bayliss disappointed a bit, but then it seems he had ripped a muscle in his left arm in a crash on Friday, so I suppose he had a bit of an excuse.

Out of interest, does anyone know the crowd figures for the Donington round?
Just that I saw it on TV, the whole of the infield was full (I've seen it half full for the BTCC and that's scary!), and you will not believe the number of bikes I saw on the M1 on Sunday evening!!!

Senn,
I think they said something like 76'000, but I could be wrong.

Was that race day or the weekend?
It will be interesting to see how that compares, however, to the other British GP this weekend.

Senn, I think they said something like 76'000, but I could be wrong. Well, the figures from Silverstone's F1 GP are supposed to be 70,000 race day, and 110,000 the whole weekend. That's 10,000 up on the number they allowed in last year, but 20,000 down on the old capacity.

As I suspected, the Ducatis are not doing too well on the twisty Sachsenring circuit. Bayliss qualified today in a respectable 5th and Capi is down in 9th. Provisional pole goes to Rossi, with Biaggi in second. The pleasant surprise is Jeremy McWilliams in 3rd with the old KR 2 stroke bike! Twisty circuits do wonders for those bikes, and Jeremy is indeed the man to make the most of it.
Other news on the MotoGP front though, which I feel are less pleasant. There has been recent talk that Biaggi was also to finally get a works Honda as of Brno. Now it seems there is a double announcement, Rossi re-signing for Honda and Biaggi not getting the bike! It is believed by some that the offer of the works Honda to Biaggi was actually to put pressure on Rossi. Sort of, “if you don’t sign with us, we’ll give the bike to Biaggi”. Now that Rossi has signed, no more bike for Biaggi. That really is a pity, for even if I don’t particularly like the Roman, he is an outstanding rider, and it would be nice to see him compete with Rossi on equal terms. Also, my fear is that this might push Biaggi over to Ducati for next year, which is something I don’t really want to see. I want Bayliss to stay there together with Capirossi.
Anyway, silly season goes on in all motor sport…
