WhoWon, I'm with you on thinking it would be nice if we could elect our own UN representatives... I also think the UN needs more power... But direct taxation? Direct taxation from the UN scares the crap out of me... I already pay city taxes, county taxes, state taxes, federal taxes... adding another level world taxes sounds dangerous to me... Once they are given the right to tax us once- they assume the right to tax us multiple times! Guns, Income, Sales Don't get me wrong- I would love one world, one nation... but the world isn't ready for that yet... we need to take baby steps towards unifying the globe. I don't think we're ready for the UN to assume the role of taxman yet- when it starts to take the place of federal governments, perhaps, but not quite yet.

Alexmd, if you want to contribute to that massacre, be my guest, but the first of you gun'whoz who even starts whinning that their kids or friends got "accidently" shot will be flammed...big time. If you are willing to cap someone's ass, you DESERVE to get yours shot at. Karma, poetic justice...whatever... You are only allowed to receive a Darwin award...But if that is really your wish, I urge you to remove your violent genes from the global gene pool asap. Sorry, I promised myself I wouldn't answer that...couldn' t help it. s. i was sure that was maybe a little too cinical and i will get an aswer like this. having known you for a while i know it's in good faith. just to clarify some things - i want to own a gun because i like shooting at the range. i went once it it was real nice. not to mention that you get to learn how dangerous they are. if you ask me everybody should have a course like that on firearm safety. second, if i had a gun i'd probably keep it at the range, there's little point lugging it around or keeping in the house. if you must keep in the house keep it in a safe. i am not a violent person. i never felt the need to cap someones ass and i always prefer walking away from something rather than getting involved. garnted, i've knowcked out a few idiots, however i've been hit first in all those situations. i've even left without as much as swearing at the guy once after being punched in the face. errrr maybe we should get a beer one of these days so you get to know me a little. you'll see i'm not a psycho who wants to shoot everything that moves.

Bowling for Columbine a movie that really distorts the truth behind what really happend. Yes it won the Oscar, but people have been trying to get that revoked because the movie does not document what really happend. That Moore guy twists everything to get his view of the world portrayed in that movie. I use to go to a pool hall that was in the hood and was full of hardcore gangsters that scare the livin !@#$ out of anyone. At 18 I knew going in there was not a bad thing becuase even though the crowd had murderers, pimps, and rapist, I knew that since everyone had a gun nobody was gonna try anything stupid. It was a way to keep people in check. No do i think everyone shoud ahve a gun "no," but it did balance the place. Another fine quote from the USA is "if you outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns." I sleep better at night know in have protection from an outlaw. This just seems to reinforce the actual point of the movie; America is a nation gripped with fear. Fear of death fearof Africanized killer bees, fear of the black man, fear of the arab, you'r all so pumped full of fear, my god now wonder you have the highest incidence of suicide, obesity, heart disease and other bad things. I watched the movie, in fact I have the DVD and I think it is brilliant, inbiased and captures the essence of the problem in American society. anada has guns, an ethinic minority it has poverty and state run social welfare. TC I think the movie makes an excellent point: that a society so worked up on far should'nt have Guns lying around. You should also read Michael Moore's book'Stupid White Men'. It's really enlightening and I think really brave for a white amwerican amle to stand up and say " Hey what we're doing is wrong. Our society can't continue like this" It is always a matter of time before someone will try to discredit the work behind' Bowling for Columbine', but then the people like Charlton Heston ( a racist of the most subtle kind - Hendrik Verwoerd Mould me thinks) have a vested interested in the continuation of fear. Fear Sells Guns, Fear sells ammunition Fear sells insurance Far sells weapons of Mass destruction (of which America has more than any other country. Fear sells fast food Where are you going to stop the process. Do yourself a favour, watch the movie and don't listen to hearsay. Get the book 'Stupid White Men'. Read about your government, get yurself informed. Don't watch Fox or CNN Heck don't even watch BBC try and get hold of news form else on the same topics and compare the differeing views. The American papers and networks are only selling fear. The biggest threat to the USA is it's own Government. Get informed BPS: A Global tax on Guns should be implemented ASAP. Also perhaps an environmental tax on compays who produce excessive CO2, are wasteful in ebnergy production. Oh Heck TAx America, let them feel the pinch
