Very nice violent protest you had there. Too bad your message got lost in the melee.

I am sure that's what Simon Bolivar and Jose de San Martin had in mind when they freed South America from Spain.
Maybe they weren't virgins?

Wow, I can't believe you blamed the violence on the Arabs. In all the pictures I've seen the mob looked like Australians to me.

as any western world... we have huge multi-cultural communities that are 1st and 2nd generation born in austrailia. they have australian accents etc. but they also still "hang out" within their own communities.
as for "looking" like australians.... please explain? we should all look english/european, just like our Nth american padres. there is no Australian in appearance that stand out, say like asian people do. we are anglo.

the protests in syndey, melbourne and wider australia were a disgrace...no question.
doesnt mean the rest of us are proud of how our fellow citizens choose to execute their democratic freedoms and the free speech we enjoy in this country...as opposed to the plain execution for free speech which most other countries administer.
although i seem to recall a high degree of unethical, violent and disturbing scenes all over the world..(and i am not talking about Iraq.)
im happy to castigate and denounce the behaviour of our protesters, but to those who chastise australia as being the main protagonists...thats bullshit.
to paraphrase the classic fosters ad - we fight wars, we dont start them.
peace.
for fucks sake....

I don't think anyone pointed at Australia as being the main protaganist of violent protests.
Glendo, Oz is very like Canada, a multicultural country but with the majority of its citizens still being of Euro descent. The problem with your comment is that you blamed the violence on the Arabs when in all the clips I saw the violence was perpetrated by euro descended Ozzies.

Glendo: If you go back and check out the 4th post of this thread (your's, where you suggested "sydney has a large arab community. i personally connect them to the violence"), that is what I was referring to. *Not that Arab Australians are any less Australian than indiginous Australians, but in order to clarify MY remarks, I meant the television coverage I saw showed NON-ARAB persons speaking with an Australian accent.* CFF
