INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Zoo is greatly saddened to announce that Amali, the historic elephant calf born at the Indianapolis Zoo on March 6, 2000, has succumbed to complications from a bowel impaction that required emergency surgery on May 21. Amali, who was the first African elephant in the world born through artificial insemination, had been in very serious condition since the surgery. Although she had shown signs of some improvement, she had not resumed normal eating behavior and had to be fed through supplemental IVs.
I was at the Zoo sunday and saw this little guy eating and looking normal. I had no clue that a few days later it would be dead. Strange how life is, one day you look fine and all of a sudden people you know that seem perfectly healthy die for no reason. I guess people need t oget busy livin becuase you never know when it will end.

Aye...sad story.
So Wyc, if we're fans of Formula 1 but worship a whale, do boat racing fans worship an elephant?
Ok, ok bad joke....
