I can't log in at work? Oh well not important. Just to follow up, guys. Snopes.com mentioned that this might be the work of a notorious prankster Joey Skaggs. So I did some homework on him. (slow work day, gimme a break. The Blue Angels are practicing overhead - hard to concentrate). Anyway, he is a prankster who considers himself a performance artist whose sole purpose is to fool the media. He refuses to scam anyone or anything for money (so in that respect he's almost legit - almost) Also, he usually integrates a message or a moral somewhere in his "art." Well, I think that we can all agree that there is some serious social commentary in hunting naked women down for sport. Regardless I find it enjoyable to watch the sheep at the networks eating up this garbage. Even more so I think it is a telling social commentary about how the world as a whole responds to it. I've heard everything from moral outrage, to laughter, to attributing it to the 'evil' American culture, to actual intrigue/interest. It's really fascinating....and a little humorous. Check it out. www.joeyskaggs.comEnjoy.

I read this post yesterday, and being the curious type, went to the link TC posted www.huntingforbambi.com and browsed for a few minutes. After reading your opinions about it being a hoax (and completely sucking media outlets all over the world in) I again tried the link only to read the message This is not a public server. Go away. So I'm thinking it was in fact a great hoax - Mr Birdick (maybe that should be Bird Dick??) certainly got his 15 minutes of fame. I suspect that when they took the reporter from channel 8 LV out to film, all the viewers were seeing were a few of his (Birdicks') buddies with paintball equipment, along with 3 local ho's who'd all agreed (for a small price) to be part of the hoax. They actually showed footage last night (the naughty bits were scrambled) on the late late show with Craig Kilborn last night. So I don't think it's a Joey Skaggs hoax, unless they manufactured some video of dickheads shooting at naked women, which would seem to contradict the idea of a hoax. I was gobsmacked when it came on TV as I had hoped that it would be a hoax.

July 25/03 - from CNN
Las Vegas mayor: Naked 'Bambi' hunts a fraud
LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AP) -- A promoter who offered to take men on "Hunting for Bambi" safaris in which they could hunt down naked young women with paintball guns admits that it was a hoax and now faces misdemeanor charges, the mayor said Friday.
Promoter Michael Burdick could get six months in jail and a $1,000 fine for operating without a proper business license, Mayor Oscar Goodman said.
"I'll do everything I can to see this man is punished for trying to embarrass Las Vegas," Goodman said.
Burdick called the misdemeanor summons a waste of taxpayer money.
"I have a license; it's hanging on my wall," Burdick told The Associated Press before cutting off questions and referring inquiries to his lawyer, Craig Mueller, who later declined comment.
Burdick found himself in the crosshairs of women's groups after he told a Las Vegas TV station that he was selling reservations to men willing to pay $5,000 to $10,000 to hunt down naked women in the desert.
Las Vegas officials investigated, and said Burdick admitted that the safaris were just a hoax intended to promote the "Hunting for Bambi" videos that Burdick sells. The videos are marketed as depicting nude women being hunted by men who have paid for the privilege.
But the mayor said the videos actually show "actors and actresses, and there wasn't even the real shooting of paint balls."
City officials said Burdick sold videotapes through a company owned by his fiance, Lakana Campbell. They said Burdick's name is not listed on a business license application filed by Campbell in June.
John Redlein, an assistant city attorney, said Burdick offered the hunts at high prices to discourage anyone from actually booking a safair, and he told investigators his Internet site could not even accept credit card charges in the amount necessary to reserve a hunt.
A report on Burdick's "Hunting for Bambi" first aired July 10 on KLAS.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ I had a feeling this whole thing was a hoax - seems to have been proven. Look at all the media (across the world) who bought this story hook line and sinker.
