I saw this article in the Globe&Mail, and can't keep from thinking that the methodology for this "research conclusion" is seriously flawed. Females who insist on prophylactic contraception occupy a distinctly different "disposition" category, to start with, than women who use either oral contraceptives or are in fact engaging in sexual relations for the purpose of conceiving, or are shaking the dice. Any woman who is engaging in sexual relations of any type (of her accord -- or exhibiting libido) is already well supplied by her own body with any of the possible hormone transfer that may be a result of male concourse. Women naturally generate testosterone, lutenizing hormones, oxytocin, etc. What I am saying is that a woman who engages in "unprotected" sex is already in a different state of mind than a woman who chooses not to accept her partner's semen. The report does not stipulate whether there is any difference between the mental "benefits" of semen from fertile or sterilized males... ie, whether a vasectomy changes the hormonal mix presented to the female. As far as any personal observations I may have on the subject.... after 21 years of marriage.....no comment. Cine_...
