I don't know about Michael.
He hasn't been very positive about CART in recent interviews, and some of his fan base are beginning to abandon him as result.
Sure, it is likely to be KOOL pushing a bit, but he wants to be at the Indy 500 above all else, and I think he's leaning towards the IRL. He's not been getting along too well with his dad either as of late.

Interesting rumour (yet another one!)
The word is out that Super Nova is pulling out of F3000 (I believe we have discussed elsewhere how F3000 is about to die), and they are entering a team in CART!
If their success in F3000 is anything to go by, this should be good. It is believed they may be joined ny yet another F3000 team, but it is not known at all which one.

Got this piece of humour from another site...
If CART becomes a spec series as it is destined to be, maybe they should change the name...
If it's with Toyota......TART
If it's Honda..............HART
If it's MG...................MART
If it's Porsche...........PART
And if it's Ford..........FART
P.S. FART would work well in Sweden, as fart means speed in Swedish.LOL!!

I was listneing to Scott Pruet on the radio and he was asked about if he thinks CART will survive. He basically said no in a way that made him feel that it sucked and that he liked it more that IRL.

Well here's an interesting article! espn.go.com/rpm/cart/2002/0904/1427353.htmlJack Arute has been very much a hardline IRL supporter, very often criticizing CART, basically considering it to be a dead series. The above article certainly changes all that! The guy has now also seen what Chris Pook can do for the series. I believe if such an anti-CART media person as Jack Arute is beginning to change his tune, things are going the right way. Long live CART!!

With the new rule changes, no traction control, no fuel changes in the cockpit and road wings back to ovals, Pook may be the first man to understand that his series depends on RACING.
I have enjoyed the Atlantic series in Montreal as much, and in some years MORE, than the F1 race.
CART, like all series, must face the brink of extinction before yielding to the demands of "the fans".
All sports are feeling the pinch. The money is too big to be sustained today. Yes, I do find it enjoyable, but $465.00 cdn for a F1 seat? Not me, there are times that I don't watch it for free.
May North American Open Wheel lead the way!!!

Glad to see you posting again NC! I can always use some more support in my Save CART campaign! Here's to real racing P.S. Did you go to the CART race at Montreal? I was very tempted, but having done Chicago and Toronto earlier, that was impossible. Maybe next year...

Just read some good news regarding CART. They will be removing traction control as of next year! Now, if only they can confirm a big field too, I think we can expect a hell of a RACING championship there next year. If I could only get that damn satelite dish installed...

Well no traction control is good news........... And the bad news is no Michael Andretti, Dario Franchitti and Tony Kanaan.
