This may be the only time I ever start such a thread- yes we already have to middle East threads started... But I intend a different tone in this one... Thank God Bush has finally spoken out against Israels push into Palestine... I say Powell must be having a good influence on him. So on this rare occasion that I actually agree with Bush on foreign policy... heres a toast to the President...

Praise for bush's advisors. Powell especially, it dosen't take much insight to know most rational statements that come from bush's mouth originate within a more learn'd mind- such as Powell. -But yes- it is good that the U.S have interjected verbally. A toast to the pres...and his thinking friends...

In line with what JWK was saying, Wycco you should have named the thread "Praise for Powell". I just can't believe how you can have a guy like Bush as president of the US. He gets interviewed on his farm on Sunday, without his advisors around, and opens his stupid mouth about things that he just doesn't understand. He must have really gotten chewed out the following day by Powell. Then the idiot retracts his statement on Tuesday, finally to present yesterday the US current stand on the issue. Can we expect a new position from him on Sunday again? This changing of position that Bush keeps presenting is very damaging. I just wish they had a president that wasn't so damn stupid! I suppose we can't expect him to change, so maybe the media can be asked not to interview Bush when he doesn't have any advisors around him? For the sake of political stability in thw world....

;DSee now you are sounding republican. If you want i can send you info to become a Registered Republican! ;D LOL- Believe it or not- back in the UK I considered myself conservative... but most republicans are so far right or conservative here- I have to consider myself a moderate... Actually- I prefer to think of myself as an independant thinker rather than belonging to any party- since I agree with each party only 50% of the time... Powell would be an awesome president... and yes I suppose the praise should be directed at him... Although I admire the reasons he hasn't run for President... he never ran against Clinton despite speculation he would because his wife has some sickness- which he knew would be dragged through the press if he ran for President.

Good address yesterday by Bush, now maybe Sharon will ease up and they can start talking. I think Bush was a little late in acting on this one, a few lives may have been needlessly lost. But better late than never.

Powell Will never be president, because his wife won't let him. It is sad but the man wouldn't even be the vice pres after bush asked him. I'd vote for the guy but if you wife says no i guess you got to listen.

or Bush's delay has perhaps saved a few lives!! Thanks to Israels action!!!
Not too many suicide bombings have occured since Israel has been taking out the militants! Just previous to their action twice or more a day another bomber would blow himself up taking with him as many civilians (men women and young children) as he could, the families of these bombers being well rewarded by Syria and Iran too!
Saved a few lives is what they've done!
Un PC talk but, If Israel stays until it has taken out every one of those milllitants whose future assignement is to walk into a crowded restaurant or supermarket and blow himslelf sky high then it has done the cause for peace a huge service!

Did anyone else notice how angry the reverend mr Dubya looked when he was confronted with the fact that israel ignored him?
The last time he looked that angry was when he was pouring US troops into Afghanistan.
Also Saddam has been raising his voice lately...

Bush
Publicly told Israel to pull out! First I dont think Israel is doing any less than the US (under Dubbya) would do being confronted by the same type of enemy, but the reason Bush has come out and requested Israel pull back is that he needs to display to the Arab states that he is not turning a blind eye to the plight of the Palestinians. He needs the support of states like Saudia Arabia before he can begin with the imminent attacks on Iraq!
If that is not hypocritical then god knows what is! Is Bush allowed to go launching a huge offensive against another country to rid it of terrorists? Yes he is... so long as the reporting of civilian casualties is somewhat hushed up and not widely reported!

It is a smidge hypocritical yes...
But the situations are different: The US went in to stop Oh-Sammy Bin Laden's ability to attack the US... and whereas Israel IS trying to do the same thing- they are just creating more unrest and more potential terrorists...
One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter...
It all depends on what you believe:
Shame the world can't have one or two more Mahatma Ghandi's in it though!

This detail will never upset the "big picture". Bush stole the election and is now stealing (with his firends) what is left of the american dream. In litlle less then a year, "Doubleyou" has; -Cut 39 millions from federal spending on libraries. -Delayed rules on "acceptable"levels of arsenic in frinking water. -Nullified a proposal to increase public access to information about chemical plant accidents. -Pulled out of the Kyoto protocol. -Rejected an international accord to enforce the 1972 treaty banning germfare. -Cut 200 million from childcare development. -Cut 700 millions in funds for public housing repairs. -Cut HALF BILLION dollars from the EPA. -Overturned workplace ergonomic rules designed to protec workers. -Threatened to close down the white house AIDS office. -Allocated only 3% of the amount requested by the justice department to continue litigation against big tobaccoo. -Pushed a tax cut of which 43% go to the top 1%. -Cut by 15.7 million prgramms on child abuse and neglect. -Violated the Comprehensive Test Ban treaty. -Made Monsanto executive deputy administrator of the EPA. etc...
He said it himself folks: "It's amazing I won. I was Running against peace, proesperity and incumbency". Yop, now we have war, poverty and a fascist mongoloid in the white house.

Well, Today the Justice department called the second amendment as valid and that the constitution shall uphold every american's right to bear arms. Great more guns, we shouldn't be surprised as Bush is a card carrying member of the NRA. Bush is doing very well so far, under his administration there has been; War Unrest in the middle east More guns for americans....... Feel free to add to the praise!!
