Many of you may have noticed me "Bernie"-ing more than normal these last couple of weeks... There actually is a reason. My goal for FPOTM is to have 4 competative teams on the field in 2004- and 5 competative teams on the field in 2005- and thereafter... I wouldn't want more than 5 or 6 compatative teams- it would just get too cluttered. What do I mean by competative teams? A team with 2 or more regular competitors. In 2002 we did have 4 top teams, although the change in format down to "3" drivers per team- and AJ leaving saw us loose one "top team". Any suggestions? I think the top 3 teams in FPOTM are pretty balanced now- obviously- feel free to scheme amongst yourselves to better your teams! I think one of the first things to do might be to recruit a couple more people from Shamu Croaks to join FPOTM (any takers?) My second step is going to be to open up a "TIPs and TRICKs" thread here on Shamu- to share some tricks I've picked up on how to improve your performance- who knows I might even be able to suggest something to help some of the regulars... The main goal though, would be to help the newcomers learn how to win quickly (its really very simple- not much strategising to it)... My goal- always is to make FPOTM exciting and competative as possible... Any suggestions?

If you sell the TV rights...the teams should get 60% of the money ;D

Don't give out tips or tricks, every little advantage the competitors can get is crucial to a championship bid.

When I get back to uni, I might be able to start FPOTMing in the future. i'm open to offers but I reserve the right to not bother on January 1st, and other significant dates So if you need more people, and you're still running on French F1-live time, then ok, I'll consider!

Sen- January 1st is a non-competition day- granted to give the FPOTM modem-engineers a holiday! ;D Competition for FPOTM runs Feb 1st- Dec 1st Now, the less presigious (but much more grueling and demanding)- support race, FPOTD (first post of the day). Runs 365 days a year- but not all FPOTMers compete, and even those that do frequently miss a few days.

Thanks Sen, Believe it or not you are actually in 12th spot in FPOTD at the moment with 4 points to your name... I think you made a post at the beginning of the year! You're only about 1200 points behind da Silva!!! LOL- a top 10 spot is still realistically possible though...

Ah well, 12 is my lucky number, so guess that's a good thing!! hehe!!

OK - having major problems with the web tonight, and when I finally did get to FPOTM, I found I was unable to post anything, as apparently, my password is incorrect!!!! I dunno if thats all due to the problems, or if there is something wrong with FPOTM? Anyway, its very annoying, as that slut Deadcat accused me of premature posting, and I wanted to post a Crushing (or at least heavily sarcastic) reply!!!

Ruby, worked fine for me- check your IM.
Incidentally- did you type in your password before hitting "post".
As a security feature- password gets erased from the computer's memory between "log ons".

Version 3 as of yet is nowhere near complete: Basically what I hope to implement is: More Customized: User sets things such as - whether to display team and user logos... what colour scheme they wish to use (there will be 3 or 4 to choose from)- if you prefer to display messages most recent on top or most recent underneath... etc...etc...etc... Behind The Scenes Work: I'm going to stream line the code and database to make things run smoother. New Championship type: Currently, for FPOTM, FPOTM, LPOTM- there is both a constructors championship and a drivers championship- I shall be adding an International championship too... The top finisher representing each nation shall score points for their nation... say at FPOTM the results were as follows: FPOTM October: 1) Ruby2 (UK) 2) Mo (Colombia) 3) Topcontender (USA) 4) RacerX (USA) 5) Pabs (Colombia) 6) DeadCat (Australia) yada yada yada... UK- would score 10 points for being first country to score... Colombia would get 8 points for Mo. USA would get 6 points for TC... No points would be score for any nation for RacerX or Pabs as they wern't the first poster for their country... but Australia would score 5 points for Deadcat putting Australia up as the 4th nation to finnish. (*Mo You can still go ahead with team Colombia if you like- that would register under constructors which is calculated differently*) Plus- The biggest upgrade will be the new site: www.FPOTM.com (not up and running yet- wait about 4 weeks) - there shouldn't be anywhere near as much downtime as the current site... and it should run much quicker- lessening the advantage that comes from having DSL connections over modems.
