I just never saw a new world. All the trailer showed was fighting in the matrix and what we know as the real world in Zion. I dunno maybe time travel comes up we will see
Also the trailer is after the end credits of the movie. you must stick around and watch the credits to see the trailer.

i saw a 30 second trailer after wading through 10 minutes of credits.
do you guys think this one is more 'colourful' than the last? first matrix movie was very black, this one is more daytime and outdoors than the last..

amazing movie
some of the FX was incredible.
how they did some of the scenes, somewhat explained here
"You’re looking at filmmaking in a way that no one ever has done it before,” said Silver, sounding like a proud father. “You’re seeing sequences that are not photographed in a standard fashion. The camera is placed where the director wants it. But the scene is constructed inside a computer.
“You’re dealing with reality-based scenes with actors playing characters,” he said. “But it’s designed so that you cannot distinguish between the real actors and ones and zeros, i.e. pixels. And I’m talking about shots that are close-ups on faces with emotion coming through. There are some really remarkable scenes where the audience will never know there’s nobody in it.
“There’s a moment in the very beginning of the film when Carrie-Anne’s character dives through a window, and you see these two guns go by the camera, then the camera comes past her face as she goes out the window and down,” Silver continued. “There is nothing real in that scene: no guns, no girl, no window, nothing!”

Sorry....I just started anothert thread about Matrix quotes on the Kulture forum.Should have checked here first, maybe. My thoughts about the Matrix Reloaded. "What a mind job" It took me a few sittings of the first Matrix to get everything. Reloaded will take a few as well. Have to see it again at the theatre & buy the DVD when it comes out,I guess. Some of the "talk" in the movie was a bit confusing. Unbelieveable SFX.The freeway chase scene & the fight scenes were great. So many Agent Smiths!!! State of the art movie.

Bush equated with Hitler in 'Matrix' sequel During the scene in question, actor Keanu Reeves – who portrays the hero "Neo" – is standing in front of a large bank of video screens as he discusses mankind's history with the designer of the computer-simulated world which is called "the Matrix." Images of wickedness begin to rapidly flash on the monitors, including photos of nuclear warfare and notorious killers. "When the architect of the Matrix describes the folly of man," Scott Bowles of USA Today says, "look at the screens behind Neo, which show images of a historical monster and a contemporary president." The historical monster to whom he refers is Hitler, and the president is George W. Bush, as well as his father for a brief moment. FU Hollywood, you took a perfectly good movie and brought your bull$h!+ into the mix.

seen it twice now. CNN has said it has made mega $$$. i would presume that this movie would have paid for both of them.... and the next one would be a pure profit returns...

Man! Thankfully chris and I weren,t the only ones thinking this movie stunk. with a major peeeeyeeew!!! i thought the first matrix was pretty good. but this one had no story line, not to mention the sex sceen made me wanna puke, ok as for the special effects i cracked up laughing cause of how ridiculous they were, and that one sceen where this girls vagina like blows up!rofl!!! i was laughing so hard i was crying! and the sceen with the matrix creator dude, i swear he didn,t even know half the time what he was on about!man! i mean maybe cause it was in gemran...but man! and then the killer, the real kick in the nuts (if u got em tha is) the to be continued crap, i mean really, who,s gonna see that? oh yeah and what about when neo like electricutes that robot in the end, are we supposed to think that he has super powers in real life or something? man! lol!!!

Saw it last night at home...Good flick...better then the first...
But:
1) Ditto about the architect...why Neo didn't kill him is beyond me... 2)I thought the mix of religion and technology was a lot of fun.. 3)The movie that defines SFX for me is still, PJ's LOTR...
BTW: Animatrix is also VERY nice...some great shorts...

Just saw it...
while it can't be sneezed at, as it is a feat of computer engineering(bla bla bla) i diddn't find it all that special.
Like you dani, i cracked up at the whole vagina scene... i mean, come on! Animators a bit bored that day eh?
I liked zion, but thats just because i tend to like anime-type robots etc... plus there were a lot of Maori moko adorning people in the crowds.
The party sequence in Zion seemed just a little bit too much like a dub festival to me...
Like you srrh- LOTR still takes the cake for digital animation in my book.
I was waiting for this one to go somewhere, but it was all just an intro to part three i felt... "to be continued..." Hah!
